Let the wild rumpus begin!

So I finally decided to update my blog. I dedicate this to all my friends who have lovingly harassed me to do so.
Time marches on and life is good! I have a new calling...sort of... I was the 2nd councellor in the young womens program and now I am the 1st councellor. That really just means I am over the mia maids instead of the beehives. I love it. All the girls I sent on I now have back in my group. Yeah, I sure love those girls and have had many blessings from working with them.
Today is the first official day that my sister Becky, Gordon, and Savanah are living in my house. They will be here for three months. It will be a big change from my customary solitude, but I love having the means to help out my family. Of course this baby is getting big. She is 10 months old and acts 2 years old. She walks, and counts to three, and teases everyone who comes near her. What a joy and blessing she has been in our family.
It is now time to come up with some new goals for my life. I am happy to report I have now achieved everything I set out to do. A lot of hard work, a few heartaches, and a multitude of joys have accompanied my journey. while I am pleased with where I am at and the progress made, I know there is still a long journey to go. I have become who I am and now it is time to fine tune and polish that. So I end where I began and shout "Let the wild rumpus begin"!

Girlz camp rocks!

I am the 2nd councelor in the Young Womens. Which means I am over the Beehives. Well we recently went to the Cub River Gaurd station to girls camp. I have never been to ward camp before. When I was in YW it was always up Mink Creek and always stake camp. So this new and different adventure started with putting up tents and ended with a flag ceremony. Of course there was a hike and crafts and smores around the campfire, but the shenanigans that ensued were the highlight of the whole trip for me.

I was reading my scriptures one night by the campfire, when I saw a line of flashlights sneaking out of one of the tents. I turned off my flashlight to see what would happen next. Well they went across camp "quietly" shhushing each other and giggling. All of a sudden some said "skunk" they all screamed and ran back toward the tent. Then someone said "let's go see if it really was a skunk" out they came again in the same fashion, only the flashlights were now in a clump. One more scream accompanied the feet pounding back toward the tent when they spied the little food thief. It's a wonder they didn't all get sprayed!

Well I was thinking "now's my chance to get them". I quietly sneaked over to the tent and scratched on the side of it. The screams and scurrying to the opposite side of the tent covered up my giggles. So I walked around the tent and did it again. They almost knocked the tent over in thier haste to get to the other side. I went and hid behind a tree and watched while they swept the area with thier flashlights speculating on who or what made the noise. The topics covered everything from the skunk to a mass murderer. Soon they talked themselves into serious fear and retreated inside the tent again. I repeated the scratching a few more times with the same results. About this time the girls were getting tired. I waited til they were all settled in thier sleeping bags and threw a rock on top of the tent. WAAAHHH out they came again, this time saying "now we know it's a person the skunk wouldn't climb the tent". They were so determined to find the culprit a hunt ensued. Well I stood there by that tree with my hood up and watched. they walked by me several times and one time I thought they were looking right at me, but no one came over. They finally tired of the hunt and back in the tent they went. I waited til they were settled down an thre another rock.

There was no screaming or running this time, what I heard was "look we know this is a person and we are too tired to deal with you so go away now". The night previous these same girls were out of thier tent bothering the other tents half the night and now they were cussing "someone" for bothering them.....hmm. Well I did the only thing I could do.... I collapsed thier tent on them. haa haaa haaa. Then I dove into my tent as quietly as I could and went to bed. I could hear them cussing and plotting revenge (if only they coudl figure out who it was). Well they coducted a tent by tent search, but of course i was in my bed sound asleep (pretending I'd been there all along).

The next morning, the girls were asking everyone who had done that to them. Noone seemed to know. Well when they came to me I said "did you bother to ask the bishop and his boys if they had a part in this". the bishop was there that night as one of our priesthood leaders. The girls marched right over tot he bishops boys and asked them... and the boys said "yes it was us". haa haa haa those little rounds took credit for the whole incident. Well the girls started calling the bishop "little skunk" and he didn't correct them. So they still think it was him.

The bishop asked me to do a lesson on the ease of being deceived and use this incident as the main focus... the lesson is on tuesday at mutual.

tee hee isn't girl's camp FUN!

busy busy busy

Wow I am so bad at this blogging. My life is so busy I don;t have time to check into my blog. I recently installed a new bathroom faucet all by myself. Who knew I could be handy with a set of instructions and the right tool. I also finally got my window project up on teh wal in my living room and all my selves are hung. Told you I was busy. My backyard is starting to take shape after multiple mowings, weed and feed, and some water, but my front lawn ugh. I still have big holes where I killed the crab grass and clover. I put some patch master on it to no avail. I procrastinate mowing it because the long grass covers the bare spots.
Life is busy, but i am happy. Today after planting my garden, I just made myself lay there on the lawn and soak up a few rays. At that moment I was so greatful for my life. I don't know if the struggles were worth it, but the growth definatley is.

a long tme coming.

So I realize this post has been a long time coming. Life seems to get so busy some weeks that I look at my calender and realize a week or two has passed already and I didn't accomplish all I set out to do.
This pic was taken at Savanah's blessing. She looked so cute in her little bows and frills.

okay, so I admit it. I am addicted to taking my niece's picture. Poor kid. It has officially been a week since I have had a new picture of Savanah and I'm going thru withdrawls. If you are reading this sister Becky, bring your daughter for a visit so I can overfill y megabytes with images from my baybay.
