The carpet is coming, the carpet is coming!

So I was surprised today by a phone call from my carpet guy telling me he would be able to get my carpet in on monday or tuesday. aaaahhhhh I am not quite ready since I thougth I had two weeks, but I will sure work like mad to get things done. the carpet is the last frontier to moving in. I am super excited. Now that color is staring to go up on my walls, my house is way cute and homey. Things are falling into place and I can't help think just how blessed I am.

busy, busy, oh and did I say busy?

Well it has been a fun ride getting my house ready to live in. I have battled dust bunnies, crayon covered walls, and bad paint schemes. I have spent countless hours and three fullseasons of M.A.S.H. getting the walls mudded and primed. But now the big day has arrived. Tomorrow I start to place color on my walls. I have often stared longingly at my paint cans as I applied white mud and white primer to my walls, and then white paint to my base boards. I suppose I should get pictures and post them so you can see just how dramatic the change is. My furniture should be here next week, as well as my carpet and then I move in and become queen of my own castle. yipee

winter wonderland

It's beginning to look alot like christmas. I awoke this morning to hail, wind, and SNOW!!!! It doesn't feel like christmas to me until there is snow on the ground and hot chocolate in my hand. It has dampened my moving efforts, but not complety halted the progress. The plan is to paint today in preparation for my new carpet. It's nice to not have to worry about drips. Mom came up last night and helped me clean. She tackled the nasty job of cleaning out the frigde and freezer and mopping under the stove. That is an invaluable service!!!!! I just really didn't want to do it.

A place to call home

Today I signed the papers to my very own home. I was told to get prepared for writers cramp from signing my name so many times, but I didn't think it was that bad. My team did a stellar job for me. My monthly payments will somehow be lower than what I have been living on. I can't figure it out except to say never count out divine intervention. I have been mulling over design ideas and have several options for each room ugh. There's too many great ideas to narrow it down.

THE SPECTRUM SPECTACLE: END-OF-THE-YEAR VALIDATIONS

THE SPECTRUM SPECTACLE: END-OF-THE-YEAR VALIDATIONS

The waiting place

So, right now I'm stuck in the waiting place. All the pre work is done, the boxes are mostly packed, and I am raring to go. Monday is the day that I sign the papers and close on my house. I am so excited to be on my own again and away from tierny and oppression.
I have all kinds of ideas about how I want to decorate...mabey too many because I sometimes have two different plans for the same room....ugh!
I am very grateful for online paint programs that let me see how my design idea looks before I go buy paint and change my mind.
