another update

New bathroom old bathroom

So the bathroom was not so bad, i just felt like it needed an updated look. I like the look of black on the vanity. The before pics were taken When the people I bought it from still lived there, so that is thier stuff on the counter. I think things are shapng up nicely. I sure love my little house. I have felt like I was on a box unpacking endless nightmare hee hee, but I think I have finally reached the end. I only have the kitchen cupboards to paint and the paining will be all done. It's nice to be so close to work, I don't have to buy as much gas, and the neighbors have been super friendly. I like my new ward. I have had to change my mind set from singles ward to family ward, but I am glad I made the change.

baby of mine

so this whole week I have been tending my niece Savanah. What a new experience. I learned early on that "I want a bottle" does not mean Aunt Tina has time to pee first. It also means No snooze button, forgetting to eat meals, running around in my garments til I get time to get dressed. No wonder mothers look so exhausted all teh time and hand over thier baby willingly to those who wish to hold them.

But for all the loss of sleep and meals and absence of baths, I really did have a great time. I love to play with her and see her smile. I love when she cuddles in for loves. I love having someone else to think about instead of just myself all the time. my conclusion, I would gladly take her again, because I love my little Savy O.

Needless to say, nothing got done at my house this week so no new pics yet. I will start making progress now. I still love my little house and am feeling like it's a home, a place of refuge from the world.

I went to Time out for women with my mom on thursday. We met up with my cousin Sharilee adn a few of her friends. It was a great time. I loved listening to Sheri Dew talk aboput leadership and found many things to apply to my new calling of 2nd councelor in the Young Womens. The second half of the day was Wendy Watson Nielsen. She talked about improving your self, relationships, and life by changing the questions you ask. I only got to stay for the first segment of her talk, but what I heard I enjoyed.

I am excited about my new calling and look forward to the challenge. I think the girls I met on sunday will be lots of fun. Funny but I have felt peace about this calling and not the stress I usually feel when beginning afresh. I have had some reservations about being single in a family ward, but I know this is where I'm supossed to be.

Here are a few pics of my niece from this week. She is 2 months old and acts like a 6 month old, but oh so fun!

sneak preview

So I decided to give everyone a sneak peak at the changes I have been working on at my new house. These before and after pics tell it all. It is amazing what a difference some paint, carpet and sweat can make. It only gets better, soon I will have my new blinds up and a door on the closet and a few pics on the wall. okay, little confessions time.... I noticed in the picture the blanket I tried to hide under the bed, and I have yet to hang my new doors, but for what it's worth, there is my guest bedroom. ta da!

something

I guess I should write something since it has been awhile. I am still waiting for my internet to get hooked up, so no pictures posted yet. I am limited to writing what I can from my work computer.
Today I started putting together my scrapbook room. What a big process!!! I emptied alot of boxes though. I should have it done in another day or two of work. I am so pleased with how things have come togehter. I now have a cozy place to lay my head. All my stuff is moved to the new house and quite a bit of it is put into place. I am surprised by how long it takes to move a whole house full. Even with working and sleeping I thought I would be done by now, but alas if the journey is what is important, I am making the most of it.
I am getting excited for this weekend. Becky and Gordon are coming friday (hence the rush to put my house in order), They are staying the night and then leaving Savannah with me for 5 whole days. I am part excited and part nervous. Becky tells me Savannah grows bigger every day, and some days she outgrows clothes she just got into yesterday. I told her to not water her so much, lol. I do wish they would stay small for a minute longer. Course with the way Jeff and Jessie are carrying on, I may get another niece or nephew before too long. Thier wedding is scheduled for March 20th.
I am excited to add Kale to the family, he is Jessie's son. 18 months old and such a happy little guy. They will be moving from her parents house to the trailer soon.
I guess that's the fam news. So for now, there's my little something!
